OTHALA Heimat || homeland
Heimat ist da wo man das Herz hinlegt. Als die Rheinbraun die Heimat meiner Kindheit abgebaggert hat, wurde ich zum Geo-Flüchtling im eigenen Land. Es hat mich gelehrt, Heimat dort zu finden, wo ich sie für immer in mir trage: Zu Hause ist für mich zwischen den Menschen, die zu mir gehören, Freunde, Gefährten, Familie. Und Heimat ist das Land, das sie trägt, blauer Himmel, weiße Wolken, weite Felder, goldene Ähren und tiefer Tann.
Home is where you lay down your heart. When the Rheinbraun coal company destroyed the homeland of my childhood, I became a geo-refugee in my own country. It taught me to find home wherever I carry it with me: for me, home is between the people who belong to me, friends, companions, family. And homeland is the land that carries them, blue sky, white clouds, wide fields, golden grain and deep woods.
